Baggage

Baggage

The above title might be one of my shortest titles to a blog-post.We are more used to the term luggage in India, but the term baggage is very rarely used. They are both synonyms and represent a collection of bags. But,baggage is what works for me.

Coming to what I want to say,we live through different stages of our life and collect memories worth keeping and cherishing. But during this time,we also make mistakes and these memories also stay in our mind as regrets. We accomplish a lot of goals, some are exactly what we wanted while some are those we have to settle with. The former gives us a sense of confidence which when channelized properly could bring consistent academic success, while the latter gives us a feeling of regret, which lowers our morale and brings us sorrow. It makes us rethink our plan.

These regrets can be easily forgotten if one concentrates on the bigger picture and buries bitter memories. But,that is something which requires a lot of strength and in such situations we end up doing that which is easier for us.

These regrets and disappointing memories of our professional and personal defeats remain as impressions in our mind and shape our character accordingly. And here is the USP of my post;we don't see these impressions in us because we believe that we are recovering from our defeat, but in other people's cases we tend to judge them by such impressions. We carry with us these baggage and judge each other on their basis.

What we fail to realize is that,we ourselves have a baggage that is ever building, stinking and just waiting to be thrown into the nearest and deepest chasm. This realization will help us drop our judgements and it will make us look beyond their baggage into what they truly are.And not just that,we can actually help each other lift our baggage and further,we can dispose them/bury them so that they don't mean anything more than a minor blip anymore.

All it needs is a little awareness and a lot of love.
